About Kate

The Interfaith Foundation ~ "Many Ways, One Truth"

I was ordained by the One Spirit Interfaith Foundation in 2004 after a two year training. I abide by their Code of Ethics and am listed on their public register. I am a member of the Interfaith Ministers Association.

The  One Spirit Interfaith Foundation was founded by Miranda Macpherson.  It is an innovative training programme for Interfaith Ministers and Spiritual Counsellors, to serve the spiritual needs of people from all faiths and none.

We train open-hearted men and women to become non-denominational ministers to support individuals, families and communities in living a direct, authentic spirituality that is relevant and helpful to our modern world.

The Interfaith Foundation, is grounded in a universal and inclusive approach to spirituality. It believes that there is One God/Truth and many paths leading to the Source of All. It is not designed as a rival to traditional religions or their seminaries. Rather, it serves as an addition, promoting an ethic of respect, reconciliation, forgiveness and fellowship, supporting peace making and the remembrance of our human unity.

About me

I have 12 years experience as an active Interfaith Minister, regularly officiating at ceremonies and services. Before that I was an ordained Buddhist practitioner and teacher within the Western Buddhist Order, leading meditation, Buddhism courses and residential retreats. As a freelance trainer I have designed and delivered courses in Intercultural awareness, stress management, communication skills, public speaking and customer relations; for charities, the NHS and multinational companies including HSBC.

I have a diploma in Psychotherapy from Spectrum Training completed in 1992. I have been attending courses and practice groups led by the Centre for Compassionate Communication since 2007.

I graduated from the University of Kent with an Honours degree in English and Film Studies in 1983. 17 years ago I was ordained with the Western Buddhist Order and as an Interfaith Minister and Spiritual Counsellor in 2004.

My personal and professional development includes ongoing supervision and various activities that support mind, body and spirit. I have a daily meditation practice and spend part of each year on residential retreats and courses. I lived for over two years in India following intensive spiritual programmes and visiting holy sites. I regularly attend the Quaker services in Westminster and occasionally lead services at the Unitarian Church in Notting Hill Gate.

I am a trained teacher of iRest yoga nidra, a deep healing and relaxing experience that helps people to release stress, build resilience, resolved personal issues and actively promotes a deep level of well being. I am also a trained Mindfulness teacher.
