If you do not attend a church or other place of worship and would like to get married somewhere that is not a traditional setting then an alternative wedding with an independent celebrant may be the right choice for you. If you do not belong to a particular religion but have a sense of the sacred or spiritual then creating your own tailormade ceremony seems the most natural choice in the world. It is such a special day and you want a ritual that truly expresses what is most important to both of you that will get your marriage off to a powerful, beautiful and inspiring start.

I offer an inclusive, all-embracing approach that bridges all faiths and spirituality, the secular and the sacred.  Everyone who attends can feel included, inspired and enriched, whatever their faith or beliefs.

Just wanted to add my heartfelt thanks and say what a wonderful ceremony! Thanks so very much for conducting our 14th wedding anniversary blessing. Your calm persona and warm personality, as well as the incredible setting, made it one to remember and treasure.

The First Step

As an ordained Interfaith Minister, I will walk alongside you as you plan and celebrate your wedding. The first step is for us to meet and learn a bit about each other.  We will also talk through what you can expect leading up to and at the ceremony itself.

You will have the opportunity to reflect on what marriage means to you and what you love about your relationship. Your reflections and intentions for your marriage will provide the basis for the flavour of the ceremony and ensure that the words chosen truly reflect your unique partnership.

I will support and co create with you a unique ceremony that may include your favourite readings, poems, music and rituals from yours or any other religious or cultural background. If you wish you will also receive a collection of choices that may inspire you.

You will also be given guidance and support to create your vows, which are the heart and soul of the ceremony and an opportunity to express your values and what is of most importance to you in your relationship.

You will receive a draft of the ceremony to consider and amend as necessary so that the final version truly reflects what you want and feels comfortable and true for both of you.

Our wedding was made even more special for us, by you conducting our service and giving us the kind of wedding we both wanted.  Family and friends still talk about the service, the colours and all the things we included in our day, some of which we may not have been able to have without you.  Thank you once again for embracing everything we wished to include and making our day so very special and memorable.

What is included?

  • A reflection process for you and your partner to express your feelings for each other, what you value in your relationship and what is important to each of you in the ceremony
  • Words, music and ritual that reflect you as a couple
  • The choice of writing your own vows, that provide a firm grounding for your marriage and the years to come
  • The inclusion of words, ritual and music that include and honour either partner’s spiritual heritage or relationship to the sacred
  • Ideas and inspiration for your ceremony from other cultures and traditions

It was an incredibly special time. All the energy that went into the ceremony was definitely felt by everyone in the room and all the personal touches made it just perfect. Thank you.

The cost includes creating a tailor made ceremony, being available for support and consultation throughout the process leading up to the day, and being the celebrant for the rehearsal and on the day. The whole process adds up to at least four days work and for this the charge is £650 when the wedding is within a day’s travel from home, i.e London and home counties, plus travel expenses. If the wedding is further away and I need to stay over night, the fee for the wedding is £700, plus travel costs. This allows for the extra time travelling and being away from home. Board and lodging would also need to be provided.

If you would like to talk about your forthcoming wedding do get in touch for a conversation or meeting.
